I’m the only Dewerson in Switzerland, as far as I know.

It is an uncommon surname though there are few more in the UK, where I originally come from.

My grandmother on my father’s side traced the name back and found a possible connection to the Huguenots when many of them emigrated from France to London in the 17th century.

Here is my grandfather on my mother’s side, far right, with some dodgy looking family members: Uncle Sam, Tony and Frank:

I live in Bern and work in Zürich as a Business Analyst in the IT / Banking sector.

I’ve worked for over 20 years in Switzerland, in IT, starting as an Analyst/Developer then changing to the Business Analyst area 10 years ago.

Before that I worked in the UK, Netherlands, Germany, still in IT.

And before that in the Czech Repuplic, Colombia and the UK as an English teacher.

I also have a farm house (I call it Chateau Dewey) in France, not too far from to Geneva.

It’s a beautiful weekend / holiday retreat with many acres of fields and woods.
